It has truly saddened me the lack of response and concerns surrounding this post.
I agree. I find it disheartening that bird auction/s (which BTW, sickens me & yes, there should be laws against it ) appear to invoke more "public" outrage and pleas for reform than the glimpse Dr. Metz gave us into the inhumane treatments and suffering parrots in the wild endure at the hands of poachers and smugglers.

In the wild is where the problem for all parrots began and it an intergral part of where it must end.

I sat down w/my two daughters (16 & 8) last night and viewed the pictures again with them. Seeing cold, hard reality isn't easy...but it is necessary.

Perhaps, as Dr. Metz said, some people find them offensive. What is happening is offensive...the pictures purely depict the sad, sad truth.
