Hi!
I have had Willie for about 2 1/2 years. She is a rescue. For her first 8 years she lived in a tiel cage with no toys or perches! Her diet was only wild bird sunflower seeds. I am happy to report she loves table food now and Zupreem pellets, etc.
Crystal is also in my pics now. She was from a pet store. I visited for over a year before I broke down and paid the $1888.00 he asked for. Money well spent though! She is an Eleanora Sulfer Crest. We also have Sam now. We got him after Buddy our Citron died. He is a male U2 who was neglected. Who ever taught him to step up had him grab onto your finger first. He had been labeled a biter. HE HAS NEVER BITTEN ANYONE!! It makes me mad that for 8 years people avoided him because of it. angry As you can probably tell, I love to help displaced birds. My tiel Rumour, actually picked me a the rescue. He was a stray. He would bite anyone but me. Of course he is mine now too. We also have a male budgie Skye. I hope to get more pics when my son Darrell's camera is repaired. Thanks for the interest! I love bragging about our flock!!!!!!!! :p

What a lovely photograph, Willie looks like she loves getting her picture taken LOL. She is a beautiful bird! I have some nice photos of my LSC, all with her crest up, as soon as you point the camera its the 'What the hell is that thing? ' pose!

Actually believe it or not it IS relatively quiet! Willie only screams if I am out of sight and she is in the living room with me as I have to sleep in a recliner(bad back, car wreck) so she is usually talking only. Sam and Crystal are in the bird room and call for my husband Don about 2:35 in the afternoon because they know that is when Daddy is home from work. Otherwise we have them on the playgym my husband built for them. We have a really good flock! wink
P.S. Thanks for looking! smile

I had to give Peaches to a new family not too long ago because I am too ill to give her enough attention which she deserved. It broke my heart to have to rehome her. But she is very happy now and I get updates all the time about her. From what I hear from her new family Peaches is still a lot of fun.

I still have a female eclectus who is a joy. She's not as needy as Peaches so I am able to keep her.

I share my home with a M2 and a G2, the little G2 often seems like it is 6 of Jasper! laugh
I swear there has to be at least that many of the G2, all playing a intense trick on me, one chewing something, another flinging food, another talking some sort of gibberish then laughing at a personal joke and shrieking for emphasis, one on my lap nipping my thumb for not scratching the right place, one chewing off buttons on a new shirt and one running off with the remote! (is that six?) Its like living inside a crazy cartoon with that little imp!
All this while Jasper sits, occasionally walking over to beg for a pellet, or sneak a drink of water. Personality (and the Goffin has more than its share) truely seems to be the deciding factor with these two.

Oh Sassy looks really cute, and happy. Kylie, my LSC2 used to over preen her crest when we first got her and it looked like Sassys does, Kylies wasn't broken though, but now its perfect. I love SC2s. They are beautiful birds!

She is such a sweetheart! She opens up more each day. Biggest problem is that she feels she can fly to the ground with no wing feathers. frown I hope she moults out and leaves the new feathers alone. She will be just as gorgeous as Crystal! It was such fun taking the pics with her last night!

Oh leigh your new phots are great, look at poor Sassy, she looks happy though! What a diffence between their feathers, hopefully Sassy will turn right in the end, I'm sure being with Crystal will be helpful too. They look lovely playing together. Do they get on well?

They get along fairly well. Sassy ended up driving him off the perch thinking it is hers though. I am hoping Crystal will teach Sassy good preening habits.

Leigh, they're looking great! So wonderful that everyone gets along so well. Sassy's just addorable! I hope she grows her wingfeathers in. It must be heartbreaking seeing her try to fly.

Just wondering--when your birds bicker or fight, what do they do? I've really only seen macaws 'rumble' and know that they get pretty aggressive looking towards eachother, but don't know about the 'toos. Is it normally just chasing eachother? Toe pecking? Do they 'beak' at eachother? Has anyone ever gotten hurt? I'm always so worried about letting Taylor and Zeeba play since I know how they could hurt eachother.

Hey Katy!
Yes they do beak at each other. Sam and Crystal don't get along at all. Sam will chase Crystal trying to catch him and hurt him. For this reason we never leave them out at the same time in the same space. The girls don't seem to care. I think Sam just wants to rule the roost so to speak. He doesn't mind Willie or Sassy. Hey keep Sassy in your prayers. We went through more broken blood feathers tonight. Seems neverending. frown

Leigh,
I loved seeing you with your "girls" on your chest. Your entire flock is beautiful. Sassy is just as beautiful as the others. They are lucky to have a loving mom.
Thanks for the pictures.

Hi Everyone, was on hiatus. Sassy IS doing just wonderfully! She has no more fear of coming out of her cage. As soon as I open it she "launches" onto my cupped together arms and hands. She is "Queen of the Couch." She is still having plucking issues, but we haven't had to pull but two feathers in the last month or so. At one time she actually had 3 feathers on her tail! Of course a week later they were gone. She has a new one already though. We have two new arrivals here in the flock to report also. Ethel is a white and blue budgie. My friend had her and "Fred" for several years. When he died, Ethel was so depressed that Pam asked me if she could join B.J. Well they had issues at first but are good friends now. NO BREEDING, JUST PALS!!!!!!!
We also rescued Maggie i.e. Magnolia. She is a 20 year old moluccan female. I had heard of a woman trying to find her a home, and when I went to see her she was in a cage 24X24X43!!!!!!!!!!
I was horrified! She has a Macaw cage now and is very happy. I would like to bring up something all of the Too parents need to know. Her previous owner did not know the importance of various size perches. Maggie's left foot is SEVERLY arthritic from standing on the same 2 inch perch for 16 years. 2 of her toes do not work at all. We have several smaller perches in with her now to work her foot and she seems to be getting some mobility in the foot back. She was one of the last wild caught in the States from what I was told. She is tattoed as the vet showed me when I took her for her well exam. She did pass with flying colors though. We have had her about a month now. She and my Willie (female U2) are good buddies. Well, gotta go. Have to get up early.
Nice to be missed!

Leigh

Well, As Jerry was mentioning, success is about to be shared. I have been using "Pluck No More" for about a month and a half. I use it on Sassy, Willie, and Sam. While the new pictures show Sassy with a few broken blood feathers again, if you look closely you can she not only her 3 inch wing feather, but also a tail feather and several wing feathers trying hard to survive Sassy biting on them. Willie now has almost every chest feather back, if you go to the last few pictures you can see just how naked she had been. Sam is also improved. He has many feathers back, but not all yet. I can't say enough about how glad I am to have found it! Also meet our budgies, B.J. and Ethel. Rumour our Tiel, Maggie the Mollucan and Crystal our other LSC2. Darrell's batteries were going on the camera so after I get new ones I will not only get better pictures, but also pics of Mia our new Quaker. My girl-friend moved to Kentucky where they are illegal and asked us if we would take her. She is 3 years old and SOOOOOOOOOO sweet. She will lay on her back on your hand to be stroked on her belly! It is so cute! Hopefully tomorrow I will get them online. Enjoy!

How are you using the Pluck No More? What I'm asking is, are you following the instructions or are you doing a little more/less than they suggest and how? I am glad you have found something that helps. Please share with us your way of using this product.

Hi Scout and All!
What I do is follow the actual directions of half a capful for Willie and Sam, and I use a bit more for Sassy as she is in such bad shape. I just add it to their drinking water in their normal dishes. I don't know exactly how it works, all I do know is that it does! I am posting a few more pictures this evening. Check out Willie and Sam's improvement! I am very pleased with the results! smile

Wow Leigh, your flock is beautiful and look so happy with life! I just brought in an IRN whose body is completely bald and have been pondering the Pluck No More. Sure they have wonderful before and after pictures and stories on their website but yours has made me decide to try it. Thank you so much. Congratulations on your wonderful family, they are absolutely gorgeous!

(Not sure yet if I am changing her name.)
She was so funny tonight when I put her to bed. "Goodnight Buddy, Cage!" I seem to never stop laughing around this girl of mine! laugh

Punk is a perfect word for her! I am going to leave her name alone though. She knows Buddy real well. I get the biggest kick out of her at bedtime. "Goodnight Buddy, cage!" I got home a little later than usual tonight and Don already had them all out. I walk in and all I hear is "HI BUDDY, HI BUDDY!!!!!!" I so adore her. She fits in well with the rest of the flock I think. I HATE QUARANTINE! Birds in different rooms to visit. Tough when you have 6 Too's, but do-able.

I know in the USA the word punk is used for something other than the way us brits use it lol so I hope I didn't critise Buddy too much lol, I just meant it as in the hairstyle!!!!!!

Oh Kylie is her usual noisy self lol, no shesbeen really good lately, no bites aimed at me or the kids in months now, even during the hormonal periods, I think this is probably due to the fact that we know her alot better. I know through the time we have had her I have had times when I thought we couldn't have kept her but I'm really glad shes here, life wouldn't be the same without her, I love her to pieces. I am so glad that I found Mytoos or I really do think things could have been different and also I wouldn't have met people like you who have been great. The animal rescue who I foster for currently have 9 parrots being looked after by the RSPCA whilst their owners are took to court for cruelty, so maybe later on in the year I may be taking another bird in, I will only be fostering at first so I will be able to see how the brat feels about things lol, I'm sure she'll let me know one way or another lol. Hope you and your family have a really great christmas Leigh! Caroline.

Same to you Caroline! smile
I don't know what life would be like without our flock either. I had to work at the kennel from 6:30 until 7:30 tonight as we have over 100 dogs at the kennel I manage. I walked in the door at 8:00 and all the Too's were serenading me. My girls (Willie and Buddy) couldn't wait to see Mom. Just made my busy, exhausting day float away.
You wouldn't believe what happened today in the news! Some malcontent abandoned several dozens of cats and I think they said 17 Amazons! Only 4 of the birds survived and they aren't sure if they will live. angry They said many of the cats were dead. The mailman noticed too much mail and called police. The poor animals had no food or water and starved to death! angry How can someone be so callous? Anyway, if you feel like it, give me your e-mail. Mine is leigh_gerard@hotmail.com. It will be easy to keep in touch.
