I posted pictures of some of my birds at Featherbutts, my email group, and thought I would share them with anyone interested in looking at them. The link is http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Featherbutts/lst (sure hope it works)

The picture of Sammie is prior to his wing amputation.

Hello!
I saw your pics now! Though I am a real cockatoo lover I absolutely fell in love with Freedom. Don't know why.. But he looks fabulous!! What kind of amazon is he?
Why is Sammy having a collar? Is he/she plucking?

Thank you very much for the compliment, I had to pass that sentence from Zazu. wink

Hi there,
I just wanted to say what beautiful owners you have. May they always be happy.

The woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.

Awww! They are cute. Is Max a Nanday? He looks like our Daisy and that is what she is. She not real cuddly but has a great personality. She is definitely a bird for someone who doesn't want a bird to handle all the time. She mostly likes her own company.

Sorry, been away for a few days....
answers: Freedom is a scarlet fronted conur. His story is interesting. He was found on a fence in the winter many years ago. He was found by a dentist who kept him in his office for around 7 years. Freedom hated everyone who came near him except this young man, so the dentist gave him to the young man and his wife, and they had him for 5 years. Then they had a baby, and Free became VERY aggressive and they became worried for the safety of the baby. Free also began plucking and just having a really bad time, so he came to me around 3 years ago. Freedom doesn't get out of his cage with the rest of the flock as he will attack anyone. He gets his private time in the morning from 4:30-5:15. He is my boy!

Max - yes he is a Nanday Conure. He talks quite a bit, but is also not cuddly like the other Conures. He is beautiful and is the one who's job it is to announce to the flock in the evening that it is "night night" time.

Sammie - Sammie started mutilating his chest after receiving a series of injections for Psiticosis. He developed a granuloma from the medication, and worried it and I didn't notice. Thus the collar. He is till collared all these years later as the minute the collar is removed, he is right back at the spot again. He has developed quite a scar. He also is collared in the picture because he had a tumor on his ulnar nerve and was chewing his wing. He had his wing amputated 2 years ago this past April. He is healthy and happy and a marvelous bird with the exception of chewing on his chest. As long as the collar is on, he is fine.

Did I answer everyone????
