last nov. I rescued a 13yr. old umbrella too.She was going to be put down because her owner passed away. She was going to stay only a short time but she tok our hearts. At first she was afraid of everything. Now her biggest problem is straining, she had surgery to correct a vent problem in 2003. she will not touch any fresh food. I checked her records and found that all her food was cooked in bacon grease. I want to give her the best I can but I am not sure what to do. Does anyone have any advice they can give to confused help me make Bobbie happy

Fried food? Bacon grease? No wonder her guts are out of order!
If she were a human, I'd say try grinding a few soy-base bacon-flavored crumbles in Jerry's bean recipe, and see if the familiar flavor will attract her. VERY few. Frontier Herbs sells them without artificial color, and made from organically grown soybeans. Jerry, are these things safe for birds? They certainly can't be worse than bacon grease, can they?
