Id like to know approximatly how long a cockatoo lives for. Ive been told 50 years and then 100 years. I know it obviously varies but does anyone know the average age.Thank you.

50-100 sure. but it depends on the species and their lifestyle and diet and numerous other factors.

It varies as much as our human life expectancy does. It depends generally (and largely) on a good diet, plenty of exercise and regular Avian Vet care.

If you must cripple a creature
to keep it, perhaps you should
reconsider its suitability as a pet.

Hi...my vet told me about 40 to 50 years for a G2. I started freaking out 'cause Bud is all ready 15 or 16 (at the time). She just started laughing at me - my God! You still have at least 35 years...I looked at my little Bud...but that's not long enough!
