I JUST READ IN A DIFFERENT POST YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO PET A G2 (ALL TOO'S?) UNDER THE WINGS. MY G2 LOVES THIS. CAN YOU TELL ME WHY WE SHOULDN'T? THE POST WAS ON FEATHER PICKING AND THE WING PETTING WAS JUST A REMARK SO THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY NOT.

It is a sexual stimulation.

My husband and I always pet both my M2 and U2 under their wings. I know they say you're not supposed to, but it's their favorite thing also. I never have a problem with sexual stimulation. Tiki is almost 5 (harmonal teenager age) and he would just die if I didn't pet him there. The U2 is only 16 mos. old. Only two times while petting him (not necessarily under the wings),
he did seem to get a little stimulated, but I just told him to step up and got his attention on something else. I was a bit surprised, he is so young. Anyway, I think it's ok as long as the bird is just enjoying it and not getting stimulated. I have read where some people only have to be careful with this during breeding season.

Thanks, I did not know this. I just kind of rubbed his wings because he's a picker and he seems to like having any area where the feathers are growing back rubbed. He's never shown any signs of sexual stimulation but I don't want to encourage it so I guess I won't do it. Jo Ann how old is your Quaker? You had me rolling with laughter with your headach remark. I was wondering because I have a male who is about 5 months and I'm wondering if I have this to look forward to! eek

I rub my U2 and Grey under the wings, but only when they're in a normal mood. When they're ready to be lovey dovey I don't do it.
