Do any of you out there think that giving birds milk in moderation (one or two beaks) is a bad thing of unhealthy as Cuzzie my LSC2 absolutly loves drinking my warm milk so i do let his have a small taste,is this bad or not.

I have read & been told by my vet that it is not good to give dairy products to birds because they do not have the enzymes to break it down like we do. My birds LOVES cheese but I don't give it to them often & when I do, not very much.

It says in one of my books that you can give you can give fresh shredded wheat soaked in half milk /half water solution. You can also give semi skimmed cottage cheese once or twice a week and a small pice of hard cheese, but i think these are all given in very small quantities.

I don`think it is the milk per se, but rather the temperature of same. If you would try another food source at this temperature, I am sure your bird would love it as much. smile
