First of all, thank you for allowing me to join this great forum. I have been a ‘lurker’ for about two years now scrolling through the forum and can I just say I think the work you do and the way you bring it across is absolutely brilliant. I know how hard it can be running a forum as I am a moderator on the biggest UK marine fish forum so have even more respect for you.

Suppose I should introduce my too’. Meet Lily, our lesser sulphur created female.

She has just had her 5th birthday and I have cared her for coming up to three years now. I suppose you could say I adopted her as we got her from a friend of a friend that was having to leave the country and they was not aloud to take Lily with them. I offered to take her and give her a good home but I shouldn’t be given any credit for that as it all happened within a month and I was going into the unknown but I was determined to give her a home. I grew up always having budgies tame/talking in the house and have always had birds so whilst it wasn’t a completely new thing we all know that a cockatoo couldn’t be more different to keeping budgies and the like. That was my thinking anyway and I was confident I could make her happy again with her old carers gone, and I have done.

The last three years have not been without struggle, a lot of stress and some headaches but I couldn’t live without her now. We still have some problems and that is part of the reason I have joined the forum for advice from people like yourselves. However I will head other to behavioural problems for that I due course.

Again, thanks for having me!

Callum

Welcome Callum, there is a lot of helpful information here.

For pictures, you need to use a photo hosting service then provide a link to that location in your postings here.

Perfectly done. Lily is beautiful and I love her shopping cart! 5 years old so she's just started her hormone years. My girls toughest years were from 3 to about 7 as far as her behavior with hormone season. She's 15 now and so much calmer during the season.

Thank you, she’s lovely. She does love her shopping cart, she pushes it around putting her foot toys in it. She has just started her hormone years? Tell me about it!! The main reason I have joined this site for advice that is more to lily’s needs. However that can be for another time.

Good picture of Lily.

If you start a new thread on “hormone years” or something similar, I will share some our experiences with our M2 during the hormonal season. Others will likely jump in too.
