I am moving into a temporary house without heat because it's over 100 years old. I bought 2 heaters for upstairs and downstairs. They are the aluminum ones at Costco that is a Presto Heat Dish. I have read all I can and researched. It is aluminum disc and electric. Has anyone heard of any problems with these for birds? No tephlon coatings, no fuel. If anyone has any insight, I would appriaciate it! Thanks!

Sorry I have never heard of them. I use the enclosed radiator type electric heaters. I ask a couple of my friends and see if they have heard anything.

I looked them up on line. A friend of mine who does HVAC work looked quickly but said he was going to get additional information on them. He also has birds. The openess of the heating element would make me a little nervous with the birds. When I read about them it said they are made to heat a person or area. Have you already bought them? I have only used the radiator ones. They are great and heat an entire room. The metal gets warm to hot but set on medium doesn't get hot enough to burn.

I have the same type as Nancy does, although being in Florida means it’s not used very often!!
