I'm looking for somone who would like to adopt my cackatoo Lily, she is 5 years old aand has such a sweet spirit. My husband brought her home as a Christmas gift this last Christmas (I still can not figure out why he did this) she was neglected and pluked out her font feathers and she came in a cocktail cage. I bought her a huge parrot cage the flowing week and her fethers on the right side are now growing back. I also do not keep her i her cage, in the morning I uncover her and open her door and I do not put her back in her cage untill we go to bed. I really do my best to keep her happy but she is such a HUGE responsibly. I work, have a 7 and 9 year old and webare pretty busy. I was hoping I would find her a forever home from someone on here who raises and has a passion for cackatoos. Is there anyone who can help me with my situation?

Please take a moment and read our agenda.

Once you have read this you will see that while we all do have a passion to keep our cockatoos and other parrots healthy and happy we do NOT believe in breeding them so none of us here are raising birds. I can understand that you are overwhelmed with your life style so finding Lily a forever home is in her best interest. Thank you for thinking of her. If any of our established members have an interest or know of someone in your area that can help we can pass the information on. We do not broker birds here so if you are selling forget it, if you in fact are just looking for a home for her then we will pass on the information.

Thank you for any help, I as well do not believe in breeding and I was hoping this site would be a better outlet vs craigslist. I am not looking to make any money from her. I foumd this sight and become a member in Jan 2016 so I can try to educate myself on Cacaktoo's. If you can help I would most appropriate it. I wil not give her to just anyone, maybe I will try to keep her we will see, I will also read the link you suggested thank you.

Our members would be more than happy to assist you with any issues you are currently having. We have all been over whelmed at one point or another with our toos. It's because of the good people on Mytoos that Cassie has been with me now for over 12 years.
