Can you keep galah cockatoo's together whether there paired or the same sex? Also I've heard there better kept in an Avery, I'm in England uk is this true?

Thanks in advance

I would be very leery of keeping two cockatoos in the same cage. If you have a large enough aviary they may do well together. You will have to go slowly to ensure that they are going to get along. Too bites can be quite bad for other birds. They will need to acclimate to the temps outdoors and can not handle below much below 60f so would need to come in at night or rainy days.

I have two galahs...male and female. When we adopted them at different times, we did not know the sex until later. The female Hannah was the first and so ruled the roost so to speak. We got Harry later and thought we would put them together as companions. Good idea with bad results. Hannah tried to kill Harry.

So now they have their own cages and own territories albeit side by side. They eat and play in their cages side by side and are taken out individually and together...always supervised. They get along outside their cages, but cannot live together.

Be careful. Do a search with my name RB2sMom ....I have many posts about their behavior.
