As Gizmo tends to get bored after a while when he is sitting with me at my desk (I donít want to entertain him constantly as we want him to be able to play by himself as well) we decided we wanted to put a nice climbing tree in the room for him. Buying one wasnít really an option, they are way too expensive. So eventually we found some nice (safe!) branches and made one ourselves. Took some time to clean the perches and to nicely decorate the whole think but I am very proud of the result.

At first he was a bit careful, staying on one place most of the time. Now he is already starting to climb around from one spot to another and he can stay busy with the ropes and toys for hours. We try to challenge him even more by hiding some treats. Of course he is only allowed to play on the tree while one of us is watching, we donít want him to get stuck in a rope or that anything else bad may happen.

We donít have any experience building something like this so you think the setup is fine? The bird seems very happy but my mother in law thinks the place looks too crowded.
For us it is a great way to give him more attention and for him to get out of his cage more so we will surely make a new tree by the time he has molested this one grin.

Looks a little crowded but, more stuff = longer time to destroy it laugh Most any Too would be happy with all that.

Gizmo is a lucky little one! That set up looks great and looks like it's being enjoyed by him totally.

Nice!

Thank you smile.

This morning he woke up a bit cranky so I just left him alone for a bit till early in the afternoon. The he really enjoyed himself with some willow branches I attached to the tree. He just loves those branches smile.

Wow, my galahs would love your climbing tree. Gizmo looks like he is having fun.

I have two galahs...Hannah and Harry. When you have time, do some searches and see some of the setups we have for them...inside havens and outside play area on a double screened porch. Gizmo looks like he is having fun.

That looks great and he looks like he is having a good time. couldnt help notice the candle in the background, its very pretty but if its a scented candle it could cause breathing problems in your too. Its pretty too, I foresee it in the floor.

The burning candle also releases small amounts of lead in the fumes....dangerous to birds....

I will do that, curious to learn more about other setups.

And thanks all for your comments smile . There are no candles in the room, I think you mean the water element in front of the window? We don't use it (too messy) so it just stands there for decoration. Gizmo likes to play with the small rocks sometimes.
