I re-write my answer to Eliott hereunder in order to not continue to post on my présentation

Eliott said me that it's not safe for my birds to live in the same cage (to sum up)
............................................

Thank you for your opinion and experience with your goffin. Is it a male ?

I know that my toos are young, that's the reason why we would like to build a little aviary in our house.
We have place enough to plan 6m2 with an aviary in our living room. But not now, in 2 years. I manage a little company and have no time enough yet to take time for this building. I'm always thinking of it... My toos health is always in my mind -)
Sacha, my umbrella will not be mature before 2-3 years. I would like to think that i have a little time... I try to do my best.

I understand very well what you're saying.
It's not easy. I would like to offer male buddies to my 2 females but I don't think that i will be able to manage the male aggressiveness to female. Aviaries for couples should be plan for females safety... And I don't want to breed babies too. Most of toos are bad parents... I'm not qualified to do hand feeding (in French we name it EAM, how do you tell it in English ?
What a mess. I'm always thinking about that. I need advices about so much subjects.
And I don't talk about feather picking... I'm so afraid of that.

I'm reading the forum and I don't understand abbrevations you use like
U2 ( i suppose it is not the group)
M2
BR2....

I saw that we talk about the same diseases, ABV, PDD but what is the name in English for the beak and feather disease (in french PBFD) ?

Thanks for your help

And what about eleonora, ducorps, corella, sulphurea citrinocristata ? Are there abreviations too ?

Thank you very much it's very kind of you.

Those would be E2, D2, C2, or whatever.

Most of the times when you post some will say they have a Moluccan and then change it to the shortened version. Also, once we get to know you and your birds everyone knows what you have and mean.

I will use both terms all the time.

Another thought, RELAX. You will pick up on everything in time. Also, try not to worry to much about them. We will try to help you as much as possible.

There is a previous posting somewhere here that Charlie sometimes reposts that list most of the cockatoo specie name abreviations. I tried searching for it but couldn't find it. I don't have a lot of luck searching for old posts here so its likely I'm doing something wrong. Maybe if Charlie reads this he might remember where it is and repost it for you.

As Elliot says "relax". With cockatoos, time is measured in months not weeks.

You're right it is a personal choice. Each of us make that decision based on our birds and life style. Cassie is unclipped as many others also.

Hi Stephaniet and welcome! I love this site.
My bird is not clipped either. Had more issues with feathers when she was clipped resulting in many trips to the vet. My vet suggested to leave her alone. She doesn't fly anyway, but I take the necessary precautions when she is out so she doesn't get hurt.

Hello,
Sacha and Chui enjoy flying. And they fly very very well. I spent a lot of time to educate (i'm not sure with this term) them. Step up, flying back when i call, telling them to go somewhere and spent time to handle them easy. It's easier for the vet.
When they are out of the cage, they are always under control and we tried to make the room as safety as possible.
They have so much energy, they need to fly.

Before their wings were clipped but until feathers grew, no bite and less screams.
When they want to be lazy they fly on their perches instead of biting.

I had more issues too with wings clipped (broken beak, the point and broken tail feather)

I'm agree, it depends on the life style, the bird and the owner. There is no rules, each parrot is unique and humain too : )

Interesting! Sebastian (my U2) had issues with tail feathers and blood feathers. She had a beak issue with her previous owner.

Yes, my galah broked a blood feather. It was a real bleeding. Of course, it happened on Sunday evening when vets are off. I had to pull out the feather, compress and disinfect. I was under stress but tried to keep it.

The beak issue was with my umbrella. I went to the vet. He did anesthesia and x ray, and reinforce with resin.

Now everything is ok.

I will take time for hosting pictures and videos for you.

Your U2 is absolutely beautiful. Great feather condition. It obvious you take very good care of her. Welcome to MyToos.

She is beautiful. What is she saying? It seems very funny to hear a french accent on a bird! No offense meant just so different than all the birds I know.
