Thankfully I don't feed the fruit blend.

Wish I had heard this earlier. Angelina always has been on pretty bird. I know its not the best, but as old as she is, will not eat anything else, pretty much. Tried to change her to harrisons and roudy bush. about two months ago, she ran out of her food and I stopped at a store where I bought about a pound of the fruit blend of zupreem. I noticed after about a week, she was peeing more and I atributed to the increase in veggies and fruits I had given her that week. Im now a little fearful it could have something to do with this. Im not sure what too much calcium would do. She has been fine now and normal, but Im worried that maybe I should now take her to the vet. Maybe Im making to much of this, because the week im referring to was a week I was switching up alot of fruits and veggies, but does anyone know exactly what the signs of too much calcium are

I'm sure one pound, two months ago is nothing to be alarmed about, especially since she seems fine now. I wouldn't make a special vet trip if it were my bird. Do ask your vet about it, the next time you have a chance. I would call the 800 number they list in the notice... perhaps they can reassure you, or at least pay for your vet check! grin Yah. Sure. whistle I don't know what long term effects exposure could have.

Too much calcium can interfere with Vitamin D and Phosphorous absorption and if it occurs during egg production can contribute to egg binding.

I agree with BF. A pound, two months ago is nothing to be alarmed about.

I posted this earlier:

I since returned the pellets and got a refund.
Talking to my vets, they said that even if they ate it, chances are they would be OK. There is only a small chance of adverse effects. If they would have had a problem....it would have happened by now. Plus problems with the batch does not mean it is uniform in all of the pellets....it could possibly be only in certain packages of the particular batch in question.

My AV is of the same opinion and I applaud Zupreem for taking the high road on the voluntary recall.
