I placed this topic here because I feel it's news that many if not most people are aware of. I learned a lot myself today and wanted to share it with you on the chemical treatments of wood in general and Pine in particular. Pine is the most widely used wood for toys and perches. A few new developments are or have been brought about that will effect anyone who owns a bird. The question to me that started this research was
"Is pine safe for parrots? I have heard that all sawmills treat their wood now before shipping with chemical stabilizers"
Well... needless to say I had to find out. And the results were interesting to say the least.
