I am introducing Noelle's very own article and page that has been made by Michael,Charlie, and Janet. It has been decided she will be our current Poster Bird. You can read about her in the Articles Library on the main page of the site.

Please share her story with whomever you choose.

Too bad we can't bar access to this forum until after someone has read and signed off on this page. it is a horrible graphic demonstration of what trying to make birds fit into our lifestyles does to them. It just makes me want to work harder to make sure there are no more Noelles. Thanks for sharing her story with us Jan. I read each update and keep her in my thoughts.

LOL I haven't done much at all...the brains behind it were Charlie, Michael and Janet. I just introduced the new Web Page for her.Wish I could take credit but I can't.

I have grown to love Noelle so much myself. She is one of the many that have touched my heart so dear. I hope some day to be able to meet her and the rest of her flock.

It's a shame she has to be the poster child and in the same breath i'm glad she has found hope in her life and loving flock and home. As i said before Janet may she out live you.only in caring hands.

Apparently, she's become somewhat of a little sh*t by prancing around the top of the other birds cage as if to say "I'm out of the cage and you are not". Imagine that, she's getting some confidence.

Absolutely wonderful job on this!!!!

We couldn't have a better poster child imho. I think that Noelle has been adopted by everyone here on these forums. It is a blessing that she and Janet found one another. Her journey, while such a very bittersweet story, is one that must be told.

I am very honoroed to share Noelle's story, and if her journey saves just one bird, then her suffering will not be in vain.

I want to thank Charlie and Michael for all their hardwork in putting her page together and publishing it to the mainsite, and also thank all the members for your kind words and support.

And yes, she is gaining confidence. The next time I update her thread I will explain the new little games she is playing.

Thinking of printing this and putting it on bulletin boards around town. Would this be OK? People really need to know this stuff instead of being totally clueless, like me. If it weren't for MyToos, I think Cleo might be re-homed by now instead of being respected, loved and cherished.

Pat, of course it's OK. Her story is being told so it can be shared, in the hope of saving others. smile

Im busy getting my humble booklet together for the Bird sale and Expo in Perth.
I am pasting together a 'Noelle' section and of course am using this photo story, almost in totality for my booklet.
Can I just tell you that I have ruined the first two printouts because every time I look at her and think of her story I start crying, really crying...
God, I'm glad she is with you now Janet - that brave, perfect little bird just breaks my heart......

Anita, I would very much like to have one of the booklets you are putting together. With your permission for Charlie to give me your email address, I will email you my information and be more than happy to cover the mailing cost.

The booklet and card arrived today - thank you so much Anita! After reading it I tucked it away in her memory box. It is something that I will cherish for a lifetime.

You did a fantastic job of covering the many aspects of properly caring for a cockatoo. I am very impressed - what a great handout you put together.

Noelle's story brought tears to my eyes. It breaks my heart to any animal abused. Im very glad that she has been given another chance at life.

Thank you LLR...we just celebrated our 3rd Anniversary and Noelle is such a love. She has yet to regain complete trust of the humans in general - she shuns (and hisses) at everyone except my 2 daughters and myself, but that's OK...she's entitled.

She also has a new "sissy" (since August of 2011) another female M2, Charlee that has self-mutilating tendencies also. She and Charlee have definitely joined the ranks of sisterhood, which is a wonderful thing for both of them.
