Below are two sentences from an email that I received through the sanctuary regarding a very vocal, Indian Ringneck.

Quote:
I've always known that birds require a tremendous amount of attention and understand what is expected of me as an owner of a bird as a pet.

I hate the thought of letting her go free, but I'm very close to that unfortunately.

Letting her free???? mad In Virginia, madand in the winter no less? mad Talk about a death sentence!!!!!!!!! mad People just make me so ANGRY sometimes!!!! mad mad mad mad mad

Don't worry...we are getting the bird out of the household. I have a lead on a good, permanent home from someone in the area, but if that doesn't work out, one of our volunteers is going to pick up the bird and bring her back to the sanctuary where we will continue the search for a permanent home for her.

The irony of these 2 sentences in the same email just blows my mind!!

The permanent home didn't work out. We were under the impression it was a local, but it was someone in WI. The little girl is being surrendered to the sanctuary at 6:30 this evening. So, she's without a permanent home YET, but she will be safe and well cared for.

Thanks for the kind and generous offer Brandy's Mom!!! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to coordinate a transport relay. The owner wanted
the bird gone T-O-D-A-Y!!!! (One way or the other!)

Helen, thank you also for your kind and generous offer. She may be going home with one of our volunteers for fostering, but if not, she'll move into a nice, roomy cage in quarantine at the sanctuary until we find a permanent home for her. From your city, it looks as though you are only about an hour from the sanctuary. We are always looking for good volunteers and good homes. You can visit out website at www.projectperry.com.

We don't know much about the bird's history yet, other than that her owner says she cannot stand the constant screaming.

OMG! EM - thank goodness some higher power (definitely God!) was looking out for this poor misunderstood (and heaven knows what else) bird, as that idiot woman had the sense (I say this loosely smirk!) to contact Project Perry! I fear that what she was about to do happens to way too many precious feathered souls, sigh....

Thank goodness you were able to get that poor bird, wish I was closer I'd have been more than happy to have given her a good home!

Makes you wonder what some people think.....or if they think at all!

Poor India, thank God you were able to get her out and over to Project Perry. She's safe now and has a very bright future ahead of her. I don't know how you do it with out assaulting a few people along the way! Nancy

Update: India is at the sanctuary and doing great. She's a very good bird who loves attention and some of the volunteers this morning were giving her scratches and rubs and talking with her. She bit a little, but considering all the changes she is enduring, it's to be expected.

Meet India

God love and bless her, and all of you at Projectperry. She is so very beautiful in that picture, yet her expression seems to be saying ''I dont understand.....'' At least now, her lack of understanding will be her puzzlement at the kindness and love around her, the food, the warmth, the toys and treats. When she was alone and unwanted, ''I dont understand'' will have held a whole different meaning.
She is beautiful.
