I want to share my favorite poem with everyone here. I know that there are many of you that that will understand and appreciate it as much as I do.

"Just A Bird"

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a bird,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a bird."

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs
involved for "just a bird."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a bird."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a bird,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a bird," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a bird" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a bird,"
Then you will probably understand phrases like
"just a friend,"
"just a sunrise,"
or "just a promise."

"Just a bird," brings into my life the very essence of friendship,
trust and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a bird," brings out the compassion and patience that make
me a better person.

Because of "just a bird," I will rise early, and look longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a bird" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a bird" brings out what's good in me, and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I Hope that someday they can understand that it's not "Just a bird," but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a bird."---just smile, because they "just don't understand!"

That was beautiful. Many of my biggest highs have been brought about by "just a bird" and also recently one of my lows.

Just a bird, how many times have I heard that one! I look into my Toos eyes and cant imagine my life without him in it. I feel like I am finally finding friends that understand and want to help me and my Peedgie Boy. Finally.

great poem... (i tend to feel this way about my dogs too) Althuogh i haven't been a bird owner long, I teared up the first day we brought him home, because I know hes not 'just a bird'... and he was having a hard time, and his sad sounds hurt my heart and I could really feel for him in a stressful and unsure moment... Im enjoying his company. Booda Baby is not 'just a bird'.

Made me smile
My best friends are my animals. I've just never really connected with people, and I'd rather sit with Cindy and read a book [Or, keep Cindy from chewing it while I get a page or two] instead of going out and partying.

Heck, I feel wrong calling my animals "Pet", like I own them. They're more like my children. Furry, feathery, scaly, children.

Also, I wouldn't be building a stroller for "Just a bird" I'm building a stroller for my baby :3

Just a bird, huh? Some people who don't own a bird, especiallu a large parrot, don't understand the emotions that go along w/being owned by a Too. I say Too, because of all the large parrots they are the most demanding and emotional of all parrots. Yes, I can speak from experiance. Occassionally when I tell someone what it's like to own a Too, they will say ,'why don't you get rid of her? My response, why don't you get rid of your kids? People that don't own one do not understand that it's soo much more than 'just a bird'!!!

Just a bird...just a dog...just a cat...just a python...some people just don't understand that they are all individual souls with individual gifts to give to this world that would be poorer for not having them. It's not worth trying to explain to those that don't get it, just feel sorry that their soul hasn't been touched by a non human friend or family member...I'm so blessed to have experienced the love my non human family gives...much more than any human has ever done.

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem
Cheers,
Tracy-Ann & Sam
