Does any one know of a rescue in the southeastern pa region. I have been looking for almost a year now and am not finding any thing on this side of the state. Right now I am not looking to expand my flock! but more volunteer and refer people there. I have been getting asked if I would take in birds and Right now with Tigger starting to be more vocal and Repairing Chilli I cant do it. I hate turning them away but my babies come first. And around here you can not call the humane society about any type of a bird not even a parakeet. Any info would be appreciated.

hi karen, when i've done searches at petfinder.org, i've seen few in the area - philly, abington and lehigh valley, i think. may be a good place to start if no one has personal knowledge of any.

You can look here http://www.avianprotectors.homestead.com/Rescue.html and if not there just do a google search on parrot rescues. I have no experience w/ what is available in PA.

Ronda's Bird Rescue and Retreat is in Philadelphia, although I've heard that the conditions within that rescue are not that great. It's home based, and the care, from what I've been told, is less than decent, and the birds don't receive very much attention there. They also charge adoption fees of $1000 for large parrots. If you want more information on her rescue though, here's their website: Ronda\'s Bird Rescue

There's also a rescue called Pro Parrot here in Lancaster county, which I've heard some wonderful things about. I know a few people that foster finches, cockatiels, and parakeets for them. I don't personnally know much about them, but here's their website: ProParrot

Good luck!
