I don't know if this is normal behavior for a Quaker but he is young and trying to mimic us and start talking. Well yesterday I was holding sam and he always gives me kisses, well instead of just giving a kiss he quacked like a duck then gave me kisses, he done this several times. I laughed so hard, he is quacking like a duck, where could this have came from?? I thought it was funny so thought I would share.

Oh how cute. It is amazing how quickly they pick up sounds. Maybe he heard a duck on TV. My Grey picks up sounds that just baffle me. The other day she was making this sound that I just could not place. Well a few minutes later I realized what it was. She was whinnying like a horse. We live in an equastrian town and she hears the horses riding by all day. Maybe you need to change Sam's name to Donald wink

I am guessing here but is that her interpretation of the sound of a kiss? Many of my guys make a kissy sound when I give them a kiss <img border="0" alt="[laughing]" title="" src="graemlins/laugh[1].gif" />

LOL he also makes a good kissing noise, so it's not that...he is definatly quacking like a duck. It has also crossed my mind about the "aflac" thing...that may be where it came from...LOL I will get my video Camera out just incase.

That's funny. One of our tiels makes sounds like a turkey call used by hunters. (along with a squeaky toy dog bark, telephone and whistles galore!)

I searched around online and found a hunter's site (Ugh!) that had actual turkey call sounds and I found a couple that sound like his turkey calls.

The closest sound to what he makes is the the assembly call and another is the plain yelp .

You are along the Central Flyway - waterfowl migrate both day and night - and call during migration both day and night. We are in the midst of Fall migration. It's very possible your Quaker is hearing things most people filter out during the day, or don't hear because they are sleeping at night.
