I'm trying to find my Goffins Sadie she's closed banded hatched at wingsong aviary the initals on the band is WA and the year I believe is 1994 or 1996. Sadie says her name and "Sadie Sadie pretty lady" Sadie was given to a woman I knew with a "return to me" agreement if Sadie didn't work out. The woman sold or gave Sadie away about 2 months later and never contacted me at all! Sadie is a screamer and may have changed hands several times by now. I have never forgivin myself for trusting this horrible woman and I'm trying all I can to locate Sadie.

Did you try to contact the lady, and ask her what happened?
You should try putting an add in your local paper.
Why did you wait for 2 yrs before, trying to find Sadie?

Oh my gosh, we're neighboors! If you want, you can drop me a PM with any details about this woman you feel comfortable giving me, and I can keep an eye out for people that could have her now.

The aggreement was verbal with many witnesses who are as mad as I am. I have been searching since she was first lost, it's just that I only found this forum a few days ago. Where is the Fostor Parrots site. The woman took off to florida, I tried reaching her through company e mail but received no reply, Big Surprise there!

Do you think she might have taken the bird from you and then sold it?
Have you tried the paper?
When my TAG flew away that is how I got him back.

Just a bit of an update on my lost bird and a HUGE thank you too all the people that have replied and expressed concern and offered advice.
I was contacted by Marc Johnson from Foster Parrots and he had a Sadie last year that was adopted. I am hoping this is my Sadie and my search is over but if not I'll keep looking...
This is a fabulous board, I wish I had known the "truth about cockatoos" years ago before I bought Sadie. They ARE a life long committment. Thats why I keep looking for Sadie, she's like a lost child and you never stop looking for a lost child either.
Thanks everyone!

Hi there. I sympathize with your situation but I am just curious, are you trying to get Sadie back or do you just want to know where she is?

Not sure I'm doing this right because I didn't see my reply to you on the board. If I found Sadie in a good caring forever home I would be satisfied just to know where she was. If not, the band can prove who she is and I did have her DNA'd, if the band was sawed off. I didn't just "get Sadie off my hands". Sadie was begining to over preen her feathers and I felt if she was in a one bird home with exclusive attention by this "experienced" bird person who was just one town away she would be better off.
thanks

I have a great picture of Sadie, one of my friends took it, and she should be a professional photographer. Her photos are beautiful! Do you have a spot here to post photos?

I don't know Marc and I've never been to Foster Parrots, but from what I've heard about them, I can say that if I were you, I would feel much better already, because I don't believe they would put Sadie into a bad home. If she was placed by them, she's being taken care of by her new family and this family would have been screened very well. Foster Parrots has a good reputation among those of us who consider ourselves whistleblowers.

Have you seen this post?

Sadie?

I don't watch TV or too many movies, so I don't know if "Sadie" is a popular character or something. So far, there are 3 goffins mentioned lately, all with the same name.

My Sadie is named after an old old character I took care of as a visiting nurse years ago. That Sadie had so much spunk and personality in her that I still think of her.
