A few minutes ago my 15y.o. arthritic dog was laying in the hall and all of sudden he was barking, sitting up, ears straight up in the air. I lifted his butt up and he charged down the hall. He stopped at the gate but didn't take his eyes off the living room. I let him and the female in there and they both ran around the living room and dining room. Once they were satisfied there was no one there they calmly went back to the den. They are both now chilling out in the bedroom.

Past few days its been noisy. The dogs were edgy. The cat was more clingy. The birds....OMG they have been a real handful. Nothing I did would calm them down.

They may have felt an aftershock from the Wednesday's night earthquake. I saw that kind of reaction in my dogs when I lived in Los Angeles. We don't feel it but they do. Even my 'Tiel would go crazy in her cage. Just a thought.....

I was wondering that. I was surprised they didn't act this way or something Wednesday. I guess they got the message late. LOL

At his age, that dog may have taken a while to 'work up the energy" to respond to an earthquake. (or to decide it was worth the effort)
