Charlie, just wanted to say thanks again for this link:

http://search.windycityparrot.com/search/index?query=kebob

They were a huge hit. Especially for my G2. I could put every vegetable you could think of in his food dish and he would turn his beak up to it. But as soon as I put one of these in loaded with goodies, he was all over it. He has never eaten veggies so well as long as I have had him. The U2 still turns her beak up but I guess you can't win 'em all. smile Everyone else is enjoying them!

Thanks again.

My CAG is terrified of them. I am trying to gradualluy get her used to them but they are big hulking monsters to her now.

Whoever coined the term "bird brain" was probably projecting.

We used them with a U2 at work and they were great, no problems at all with him destroying or even breaking the tips off. Th ones that we used has a screw tip with a stainless steel nut at the end.

No, Elliott, they won't destroy these. They are the same size as cage bars and made of high quality stainless steel. They should last forever! I'm glad they were well received. If the Umbrella is scared of them, make a shiskebob and nibble on it yourself, making no offer to share. Most cockatoos cannot stand that! LOL

Thanks for the tip Charlie. Unfortunately, that's just how she is. She will get a new toy and it will sit for weeks and then she "discovers" it and it's her new favorite. Can't let perishable stuff sit on it for weeks, it may just not work for her. I'll give her a few more rounds though. If not, 4 out of 5 a'int bad!

wow this is where I love this forum. I am sure someone mentioned kebobs at some time or other, but I might have missed it. Im going to try to buy some in the next day or two. Angelina does now eat some veggies, which until a few years ago, she didnt, but this might be the thing that will work for her. The macaw and grey will eat anything you give him, but I have been challenged with angelina from the beginning to eat her veggies

You could try threading other non-perishable 'toys' through the kebob (something she cant resist) to get her interacting with it and then sneak a bit of carrot/apple etc on it. I did this at first with my too - she loved shreading toilet paper rolls(the non fragranced, non-bleached ones of course!!) so I put heaps of these on it and after a while she tried ripping anything she could get off the kebob...including carrots etc...If you can get her to investigate it your half way there and like it or not, they end up with a beak full of veggies eventually lol! Good luck
Anita
