Make sure and click on the pictures to get the full scope of his afternoon. He obviously had a wonderful time. Amazing what they can do in less than 2 hours!

If anyone you know is thinking about getting a bird...make them look at this. This was the work of a little G2...think about what a larger too could have done.

Have mercy!!!!!! I've had a window frame (or 2) that resembled that from one of my G2's.

Holy cow! Maybe you should look into stainless steel next time. Or maybe concrete. For the whole house. I know I'm considering a concrete house with a big drain in every room so I can just hose the whole thing out. Would solve lots of problems.

You gotta love em.Sugar got out once and attacked my kitchen. She destroyed a butche block knife caddy, chewed the tops off of 2 cabinet doors, turned my oven on 500 degrees which was no easy feat as it has a digital control and takes pushing 3 button in a sequence for it to turn and stay on,she poured out a bottle of ibuprofen, had cornbread that had been sitting on top of the stove, strowed everywhere, pulled a rubber casket? that seals the top of the stove from the control panel and had in in tiny pieces...thats just what I can think of. Very expensive little excursion she had!!

Scary pics! Knock on wood Cassie has only escaped her cage twice and both times were my fault for leaving a food door open. She went to the top of the cage and stayed put. Luckily in both cases we were home at the time so she was only loose a few minutes. To date she hasn't shown any interest in the locks. I know it's only a waiting game until she does!

Topy is a master escape artist. I thought I had the side door secure with stainless steel chains and quick links....But he obviously was bored today and undid everything. There are now padlocks on the food doors. Hopefully that will keep the little monster in place when I'm gone.

It is impossible to even be angry. He only did what a cockatoo is born to do....shred wood into toothpicks. I just looked at my husband and said "I'll stop at Menards on my way home from Denver next week"!

I agree! This isn't a picture of house damage, but one morning my two G2's got out and this is where I found them when I walked into the familyroom.

So much for my silk palm plant - every single leaf was off, and the two of them just stood there, smugly. LOL! I burst out laughing.

EM- That picture is priceless. It made me laugh right out loud. Sheesh...who in their right mind wants to spend their lives with something that has such a propensity for destruction? Only us crazy bird people!

Wow~ Vonda, you are lucky your little one did not meet her demise between the oven and the ibuprofen... SCARY!
Not sure what would be better examples of destruction here; molding or bar stools??? Hmmm~ perhaps a toss up.

I count is as part of the cost of having him in my life! And if you could have only seen how proud he was of himself. Priceless.

My Luna has gotten out before and had a hell of a time with our stair railing.

Oh the joys of these angels!

Topy must have thought he was in cockatoo heaven! And EM, hilarious photo - they look so proud of themselves! So far the destruction in our house has been limited to a set of french doors but it's about my business. Before I realized her potential for destruction, Cleo practically chewed up the whole place including tearing up floor tiles! Everytime she chewed something up I figured it was just an isolated incident, but the mimute my back was turned, something else was chewed up. And she was fast and sometimes very quiet!

Wow! One little innocent G2 and all that damage! You have a great attitude, and I'm sorry for the money you'll shell out for the repair, but thank goodness it wasn't more damage, and that he didn't hurt himself while he was out!

EM - that pic of your palm-tree-redecorating 'Toos is priceless! smile!

Oh my! I have to say, this is one of my biggest fears! Our G2 was found mysteriously out of his cage one day (luckily my husband was home at the time), but he hasn't escaped again since. If he does, though, I have a feeling I can kiss my window sills goodbye!

I forgot to put Zazu in her cage one day so she was out the whole day. She didn't touch anything. She stayed in the bedroom on the Atom and I know this from all the poop on my bedroom floor. Now how lucky am I? Left Sally out another time while I went grocery shopping, and came back to no damage. I was putting my groceries on the floor and heard her above my head and her cage is not above my head. She was on a playstand and said "you're rude".

Apparently my birds need my physical presence in order to destroy things. LOL

EM, that picture is priceless but what I found really touching is that they were there together.

And if Topy's plan was to renovate, he didn't do a very good job. I'd have his licence revoked. LOL
