Well all went well, but it took alot out of her. She has not eaten today. New bloodwork they don't want you to feed them before to get more accurate results. She has been sleeping since we got home. It makes me sad. I took the day off to be with her and she has been cuddled up on her heated perch all day. Good news so far though...healthy weight, eyes, nairs, ears, and strength (boy she puts up a good fight for 280 gms!). It must be her flying lessons! LOL! Anyway, should get the blood work back in a few days but all looked great!

I think that exams are always traumatic for them. Our RB2s Hannah (11) and Harry (6) are due for theirs soon. So, they are doing fasting blood tests? No wonder Scarlett is stressed. Just spend time talking with her and try to hand feed her some treats. They need lots of reassurances when they go to / come back from the vet. I hope everything comes out OK.....

Yeah, the lab says they get better results (just like us) if they fast for 12 hours. This is the first time this has been the case cuz she usually reels right back into things since she like our AV. He is top notch and I trust him. He said if she acts lathargic (sp?) to put her on a heating pad but when I told him about her heated perch he said she'd be fine. She ate a little breakfast mash which I gave her around 11:30 but she seems to just want to sleep. I know she will be OK but I just miss her personality today! She doesn't seem to want to be bothered, so I am letting her tell me when she feels like interacting.

Vet visits exhaust my birds also. Hoping for picture perfect lab results - please update us when they come in.

It usually takes about 1-2 days before our RB2s are back to normal.

Wow, I can't imagine a bird fasting for 12 hrs. It's one thing for a human, but birds have such high metabolisms.

Poor baby...12 hours seems like a long time! Glad the results were good!
