I get the impression, watching my guys ( a conure and a tiel) go after buttons and jewelry, that these sittle hard things seem like ticks or some kind of parasite to them, and they feel they heed to be removed, before they do harm! Earrings especially must be yanked out; obviously, anything that goes all the way THROUGH an ear, must be sucking blood! So they quickly remove the back, toss it one direction, and then pull out the post and toss it another! Problem solved: the birdie just saved Mom from a nasty little bug! They are so proud!
