IL
Last week IL had an earthquake about 4:36AM. It woke some people up. Now the earthquake didn't wake us but but the birds sure did. They were screaming and thrashing all over their cages!

INDIANA
OMG, I live in Indiana and we felt it. The thing is Ellie started screaming for no reason 1 hour and 45 min BEFORE it happened. We were all asleep and she started screaming (not like her before her flock is awake and moving around). I laid in bed thinking what in the heck is wrong with her...then she stopped. So I didn't think too much of it. Then and hour and 45 min later I felt it. Of course I was still awake...who could fall asleep that quickly after a too has been screaming!!!

So Ellie knew about it coming way before it even did.

The only other time she did this was when out furnace went out and at 12:00 A.M. she was screaming, woke me up and I realized it was only 55 degrees in the house and it was the first coldest evening of our winter season, the low that night was 10 below!

Humans are the only animals that are mean on purpose

I slept right through it and as far as I knew so did Ralph. I did notice though that afterwards she quite moody and wasnt eating quite as much for a few days after. I weighed her and she lost about 10 grams but has since bounced back into her usual self. I also weighed her today and she is back to her usual weight.

Mandy - I can believe Ellie knew about it before it happened! Animals always have that instinct. I'm going to read more about that this weekend now that I think about it.

It is more than instinct. Here is another discussion:
