No, it's not what you're thinking... I'll bet I know what you're wearing. Is it a shirt with the buttons missing from it? Because that's mostly what I'm wearing around the house. Just got some new P.J.'s and I'm already almost buttonless!!! Paulie can't leave a button alone for a minute. Does your too leave you buttonless too?

Sugar Bono ripped the button off my new jacket yesterday, and it is the kinds that you can't sew back on- you know the jean kind?? I though about sewing a bunch of big buttons on his favorite stuffed toy.

yeah i have learned not to buy any clothing with buttons, or zippers. Aurora has also taught me how to use the porch to hang up my coats. i literatly leave her alone for 2 minutes, and she will rip ALL 12 buttons (yes, i've counted them, i've repaired this clothing item before) off of my favorite dress. She has also taught me how to sew...she's just looking out for me, that's all.

I have designated a bunch of clothes as 'bird clothes'. Usually it's t-shirts, sweat shirts, and sweat pants. I won't wear a belt near Rocco since he got very focused on a shiny buckle once, and I ended up with a painful bite on my belly. Sometimes I retire a shirt from my regular wardrobe to my bird wardrobe, and Rocco doesn't waste any time removing the buttons.

I mostly wear old clothes when I handle my birds. 2 weeks ago I bought a new glasses. A very modern one color bright bleu. My too wants my glasses now. Yesterday I stoot before his cage sideways watching something on tv. I felt a foot approaching my face and this foot grabbed my glasses and removed it from my face.
Since yesterday, I can't wear my glasses anymore, don't want it to be broken. Perharps put on the old one when I handle him.

We haven't had that problem here for awhile for whatever reason. Chucki can and has snatched buttons off of shirts so fast one wouldn't have known it was off except for the object being in her mouth.

nope, no buttons here either. A sweater sans buttons with too caused pulls all over it, sitting at my desk with too beak marks on it, typing on my new wireless keyboard, because Cyrus thought the wire on the old one "needed repair"

i had almost forgotten the button fetish. twenty some years ago when pedro, DYHA joined the family everything i owned had holes in the shoulders and all my husband's shirts had no buttons. after a few years we learned about sexual maturity and shoulder sitting being unwise. pedro and joey, LSC2 have been retrained to sit on my knee. now all my jeans have holes somewhere on the thigh or knee.

We have a laundry basket full of "bird shirts". Sometimes we remember to put them on. I always try to remember to offer them to guests. They're the ones that are worn, faded, and perhaps paint-splashed (we have a little contractiong business, besides doing all the work on our rental houses)

I suspect that buttons, earrings, zipper teeth, and other hard-shelled, shiny things may look like parasites, maybe something like ticks, to the birds, partly because of the inclination to remove them SO enthusiastically, and partly because mine THROW them so powerfully after they do remove them. Sort of like "EEEEEEW! it's a bloodsucker! Let me GET that for you!" They are always so pleased when they do "get that", too.

Betty was so disgrunteled the other night. My husband was playing with her and had on a sweater with no buttons, no zippers, no pockets, no snaps, no nothing!

She very quickly decided that this was no fun and flew back to the play stand.

Cat and Betty (you mean the rivets on your jeans are not blood sucking monsters that must be removed? confused )

Yup. At least the buttons and rivets aren't. The zippers, now. . .

I never really noticed this "problem" before because I almost never wear anything with buttons. I wear t-shirts. No buttons zippers nothing. BUT I was busy the other night and Casper climbed up with my husband who did not say anything for as long as he could, (he usually calls me right away!) but finally Roy asked me to come get him because he would not leave his buttons alone!
