I will soon be removing several of the older images from the web page to make way for new ones, www.sampford.com.au/OurBirds.htm ,so if anybody wants to take a copy of the ones there presently it's now or never, (well, maybe I'll give it a week wink ).

Those are just lovely. I'm sure you've heard this before but wow you are so lucky to live in a place where you can look out the window and see toos flying freely. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful photos.

Just out of curiousity are you the same person that has the picture of the wooden deck on the outside of their home that was eaten by toos? I saw that one time and havn't be able to find it since.

B-Eautiful! I hope one day to make it over there to you from the US and see these wonderful creatures fly freely! Thanks so much for sharing! The kukabera (sp) is one of my favs. Sang the song about them all the time as a child. Thanks for sharing again!

Thank you for sharing. These are amazing photos. One day, I'd love to see these birds in their true homes rather than stuck in ours. Looking forward to seeing more!

To Alleaa, yes that was my deck that was featured in my first batch of photos. I thought I would continue posting more photos whenever the opportunity comes along for some decent shots.

I have removed a few of the older pics due to space limitations and retained some of my particular favourites, while at the same time adding to the collection. Pop by from time to time to see what is new.

No new cockatoos at the moment but a pair of Baza's came to visit today which is the first time I have had birds of prey in my garden - quite exiting!

Okay you had me there, Baza? I had to look this one up..LOL are you talking about a Black Baza? My search tells me these birds are native to SouthEast Asia, Cambodia, Viet Nam, etc. How the heck did they get to Australia? Are they common to your area? Love to see some pics of these Scouser, your photos are always so wonderful!

Black Baza

AHA! I found it..you must be talking about the Pacific Baza :-)
(Insomnia does this to me..LOL)

Hi Mona,
I do have a couple of shots of the Baza's on my web link if you haven't already seen them.

I have seen this pair circling overhead on a couple of occasions but it's the first time I've seen them come down into the garden. I think it must be to do with the very high temperatures we have been experiencing the past week, averaging 37 Celcius (100 Fahrenheit on the old scale), they are coming for a splash in the pond to cool down.

We are also in the middle of a severe drought so providing them and all the other birds with fresh water and food attracts them also.

To Saggismama,
Sorry, I deleted the images of the deck from the web page and then realised that I had already deleted them from my PC. I have been kicking myself ever since.

To anyone who may have taken copies of those first images I posted, particularly of my wrecked deck, I'd love to get hold of them.

Scouser:

It just so happens I have all the pics you first posted, including the deck pics. Where do you want me to e-mail them? There's 14 pics in all.

We've always loved seeing your photos! You must know how lucky you are to only have to look out your windows and see such beautiful birds. Thanks for sharing!!!
