Relieved to see you on-line. I hope that your fellow Oil-rig workers recover and the others are found.

I'm okay. I got home Monday night. Our rig is about 32 miles from that one. It is a huge rig. I know several men quit their jobs on our rig recently to go work on that rig. There is no list of crew out yet so I hope they find the last 12 guys that are still missing. I know several of the people. There is no information on the cause yet but it looks like a blowout since the fire was so huge so fast. It can be a dangerous profession. frown Thanks for asking!

Just heard about it on my way home from work. Ron called to tell me and asked about you Charlie and where you were. I'm glad to see you're ok. I'll say some prayers that your fellow workers are found safe.

Didn't hear until Friday, and then didn't get a chance to get near a computer until just now, and have been praying like mad (well, no, actually have been praying as if I were sane) for you. Will keep on praying for those who haven't been found, and for their families.
I'm SO glad you're okay. Means God isn't finished with you yet wink

Hey, Jody! I have been praying for you as well! smile It is good to hear from you. Those 11 men were never found, a real tragedy, but there is a reason for all things. We just don't have excellent comprehension. There is a reason for faith! Take care! cool

I was really sorry to read about the 11 that were never found. Just can't imagine what their families are going through!

Re: Charlie, - 05/05/10 07:49 PM

an environmental disaster with major loss of life had occurred, and my first thought was 'i have a friend out there, got to find out if he's ok.' took me days to get on line, but i had faith and was greatly relieved to see you'd posted minutes before. i am so sad. the magnitude of this is mind boggling, but i was so happy you were safe it took days for me to really get angry at how serious this is becoming.

Re: Charlie, - 05/05/10 08:36 PM

Thanks for your concern, Flowerchild. I am back offshore now and, for as bad as it seems to be, there are literally thousands of people with the oil companies, the drilling companies, all levels of government and even the fishermen out here working on this situation. They are making progress but it's far from over. It is amazing to see how every level of the population is becoming involved; it gives new faith in humanity. I suppose the big news right now is that the steel and concrete "domes" are on their way to the location to see if one can be lowered over the well head with a riser line to divert the escaping oil to a tanker on the surface.
